It's not just about the golf

One of the advantages of living in Kwazulu Natal is that over and above the great golf courses surrounding me, the area is blessed with superb natural beauty, and glorious weather in which to take advantage of it. We try and walk about 4km on the beach every morning after dropping the little monsters at school. The excuse is that we need the exercise, but in reality this walk is a soul-soothing chance to soak up some calmness and natural beauty before the chaos of the working day. We are fortunate to live and work very near the beach, so while others are commuting, I am communing. (And if that all sounds a bit Zen, forget it. You would need a JCB to get me into a lotus position. Getting me into a Lotus Elise....well that would be worth the effort). There is always something new and spectacular going on with the ocean. Our section of beach is filled with rockpools, and these have an amazing diversity of life in them. There is a rock pool near us at Chaka's Rock that has the most spectacular reef fish that I have seen since I dived on the Barrier Reef many years ago. This mornng , while we walked, we were treated to one of the resident pods of dolphin surfing in the waves just offshore. Very special.

Add to this the close proximity of top quality golf courses, and you begin to see why I have decided to make a business out of letting the wolrd know about this place. I have Zimbali, Simbithi, Umhlali, Prince's Grant, Beachwood, Mt.Edgecombe Country Club and Durban Country Club, all within 40km. Golfing heaven.
