The Big Easy Durban by Ernie Els, is the newest addition to Durban’s burgeoning restaurant scene. Inspired by Ernie Els’ sporting passion and love of his homeland and echoing Els’ hallmark style, Big Easy Winebar & Grill is unpretentious, yet sophisticated, and brings a together all the elements that make a restaurant more than just a venue. Great food, amazing décor and a laid-back vibe…Big Easy-style. Situated in the Durban Hilton, in Durban’s CBD, the Big Easy Durban is the first Ernie Els restaurant outside of the flagship restaurant in Stellenbosch.
The Hilton is also a stone’s throw from a number of KwaZulu-Natal’s top golf courses and country clubs, the most notable being the Durban Country Club, which is a five minute drive from the hotel. Played by Gary Player, Ernie Els himself and many of the world’s most famous names, is the only golf course
on the African continent to be rated in the top 100 golf courses in the world and was recently awarded the 5-star gold experience. The course is ranked no 9 in South Africa, top in KwaZulu-Natal, with the 3rd hole rated best ‘Par 5’ in the world.
With a commitment to farm-to-table delivery, the Big Easy menu is a taste sensation from across the nation, delivered to perfection. We serve a fresh, seasonally-driven menu, sourcing ingredients and produce from artisan suppliers and featuring classic dishes, authentic local specialties and Ernie’s personal favorites.
Alongside Ernie Els signature wines, is an extensive collection of selected quality wines, as well as a comprehensive portfolio of local craft beer, fine whiskeys, cognacs and cocktails has been compiled to ensure that there is something for everyone.
Inside, the restaurant features a Chef’s Table and open Kitchen, Private Dining area and a large bar. Outside, the Terrace has an upper and lower deck for al fresco dining. Guests will also be able to stop by the retail shop to buy Big Easy wine, olive oils, vinegars and other golfing memorabilia.

for our regular Sunday Big Easy ‘Jazz Brunch’. Sit back and relax each Sunday from 11.30 – 15.00, over a great glass of wine and a delicious buffet spread. A la carte menu also available.
